The nature that surrounds us is part of the world heritage, which we should care for and nurture so that it survives for future generations.
As defined by the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, adopted in Paris on November 16, 1972. by the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (otherwise known as UNESCO), and subsequently adopted and ratified by the People’s Republic of Poland in 1976 as “natural heritage” are considered:
– Natural monuments formed by physical and biological formations or groupings of such formations, presenting exceptional universal value from an aesthetic or scientific point of view;
– Geological and physiographic formations and zones with strictly defined boundaries, providing habitat for endangered animal and plant species, having exceptional universal value from the point of view of science or their preservation;
– Natural places or zones with strictly defined boundaries, having exceptional universal value from the point of view of science, preservation or natural beauty.
With this post, we kick off our latest natural heritage communication project entitled “How to Live? – Naturally!”, which was created to draw attention to the need to protect the Earth’s natural heritage.
